On the morning of June 27Th all the villagers gathered in the square; for June 27Th was not any old day it was a special day, the day of the annual lottery. The lottery was one of the village's oldest traditions. It had been around longer then the oldest member of the village. The lottery was ran by old man Summers, who had also ran the teen club, Halloween program, and the square dances. They started the lottery by pulling out a very old black box; the box was so old that it was basically falling apart.However no matter how old the box is it was no indication of how old the lottery actuasly was; for the original box had been replaced several times be for this box was even made.
