"The Lottery" shorter version

The author in this perticular story is trying to make the me / the readers get to know a certain character (Mrs. Hutchinson) before they killed her. The author wanted us to understand the character and make an emotional connection to her death. The "Lottery" is about a married woman named Mrs. Hutchinson. She was robust and more interesting and different from the others in her village. Her and Mr. Hutchinson has a daughter, a son and a baby. On one day, every year all the villagers get together at the square and they choose the lottery winner. Apparently some of the other villages gave up the lottery, but this village was still doing the tradition. They say that if you win the "Lottery" then you will get "stoned". So the children all gather up the rocks and put them in piles. The day of the lottery winning everyone gathered in the square to view the so called "meeting". Whoever wins will get a piece of paper that has a black dot on it. Everyone writes their name and puts it in "The Black Box". The black box has been a part of this tradition for years, although it is not the original it is still a major item. Well, to get straight to the point, Tessie (Mrs. Hutchinson) pulled out the black dotted piece of paper. While screaming her and her husband that it was not fair, all of the villagers grabbed rocks and kept throwing them at her. one rock hit her in the head. Mr. Hutchinson kept screaming and yelling that it was not fair.
