The Lottery
In the story called, The Lottery I personally, tink it was more of a mystery type of story. The story takes place in a town. In this town every one from adults to babies have to put their names on a piece of paper. Once their name is own that paper the paper gets put into this own black box. The way the box is described in the book it is really old and cracked. The black box proves that it has been there for many generations because that was not the first black box around actually, it was a lot before that black box. While reading the story I realized that the black box represents not just a place where the papers are suppose to go in but a tradition that has been done for many generations. So once, while the papers are in the box there are stones in apile. Once, the lottery is about to take place Tessie gets there late. Then a person picks a name out of the box to win the lottery, so we think, until Tessie gets picked then the next I know Tessie goes from being this happy person to this person who is sad, upset, etc. Then the people from the village start to throw stones at her while she is screaming how the lottery is not fair. After, reading the story that is when the readers realize that lottery is not a good thing but a bad thing because whoever when the lottery ends up dying.
