The Lottery
This story called the lottery was about a tradition thing the villages do that the lottery took less than two hours, and it would begin at ten o’clock in the morning and still be through in time to allow the villagers to get home for noon dinner. But the lottery happens only once a year but the heartbreaking thing about the lottery was kids that kids are assembly to be in the lottery as well. The villagers first pronounced the name “Dellacroy” and eventually made a great pile of stones in one corner of the square all the villagers was in and guarded it against the raids of the other boys. Then all the men began together while watching all their own children just talking about planting, rain, tractors and the taxes they pay. A guy that goes by the name Mr. Summers who was in charge of the lottery ,square dances, the teen club, and the Halloween program. The postmaster, Mr. Graves was carrying a three legged stool, and the stool was put in the center of the square and Mr. Summers set the black box down on it. The black box has the names of the villagers in it and the villagers always kept their distance, leaving a space between themselves and the stood, and when Mr. Summers said, “some of you men could give me a hand?” it would be hesitation between men that names were Mr. Martin and his oldest son, Baxter came to hold the box very steady. But a lady name Tessie Hutchinson showed up very late and hesitated for a minute when they began taking the paper out of the box, looking around defiantly and Tessie was chosen from the box and had got stone to death.
