my big brother symbol

One of the symbols in the story 1984 is when in Winston house he had enormous poster that make you feel you are being watch by big brother. In the passage they said the poster with the enormous face gazed from the wall it was one of those pictures which are so contrived that the eyes follow you about when you move Big Brother is watching you the caption beneath it ran. But the meaning behind the symbol I think it was power to make you feel like Big brother is watching you at all times and suppose to make you feel fear him and guilty if he broke any of the rules so that was a big symbol in the story. A various part of that symbol is that their trying to brain washes you to follow and think under big brothers commands. Having Big brother writing on your wall concisely would get through your head and make sure you recognize your place .
