One book every student in the sophomore class must read the book The First Part Last. I think it’s a good book. Many students think the book is interesting because it’s dealing with teen pregnancy. For instance more teens are having babies in high school. In addition, it’s about taking responsibilities for the mistakes and good things a teen couple made and has to deal with. Also the book teaches us about the consequences of having sex.
In high school more teens are having kids at a young age and really don’t know what to do. For instance they want to come to school but do not have a babysitter or a daycare their baby can go to. Some teens are having babies because their friends are pregnant, and they make it seem easy when they speak about it but which they fail to realize they are probably getting a lot of help. Some teen girls get pregnant and want to keep their babies when they know their boyfriends does not have a job and his parents want him to do it on his own.
When having a baby it’s a big responsibility. Most teens do not plan on having a baby but when it comes down to it they have to take care of it either way. Some teens get an abortion or give their baby up for adoption and they realize they are making a big mistake. Some teens do not believe in abortions so they do the right thing when they can’t take care their babies give them up for adoption to a family that can take care of them.
All teens think they know the consequences of having sex. Some teens are not prepared for the consequences that may come there way. Just because they use condoms and use birth control it’s always that percentage that does not count. Some teens get peer pressured into having sex especially by a boy they think is really cute.
Their parents wouldn’t want their kids to read this book because it’s about teens that’s about to have a baby. It’s a good book because its letting teens know its not easy to have a baby. It let them know anything could happen to you if you have a baby at a young age like death. It let young teens know it’s a big responsibility to take care a baby alone. So CCTS sophomore class should read the book The First Part last.
