Winston lives in Victory-Mansions, but it is funny to know that his apartment is run down and dingy so it is basically a contridiction to itself.
With that said, to describe his apartment i could say that from his view, he is basically walking into a prison cell, where every move he makes is watched and every sound he makes is heard, he is not allowed any weird ideas because there are also THOUGHTPOLICE who hear tyour thoughts, one word, hell.
