SOPA

SOPA is a bill that is trying to be passed as of right now. SOPA stands for (Stop Online Privacy Act). In this bill they are trying to control everything you look at on the web. They are trying to restrict what search engines are allowed to provide you with when you type in something, it could be anything and they want to be able to watch/ control what you are allowed to view. Although chances are it won’t pass considering people state it contradicts free speech and, have proof behind what they are stating, it still hurts that they would even try to do this.
This reminds me of the book we are reading in class in many different ways. Fist, in the book we are reading titled 1984 there is a saying they state rather early in the text. This saying is war is peace; ignorance is strength freedom is slavery. This bill goes along with freedom is slavery. The reason I say this is because in our freedom of searching the web there is really no restriction but if the pass the SOPA than our freedom will be restricted and who knows how far they will try to take it. If this happens than our freedom could end up being slavery. Our freedom is slowly being taken away little by little, like smoking, drinking, and ect. and that saying is showing that if we keep going down this path we will end up that way. Say NO!! To SOPA
