Symbols in 1984

In my opoinion, those enormous "Big Brother is watching you posters" is going to be the most recurring symbol in this book. It represents the fact that no one under the "party's" influence has any free will at all. They are "always" being "watched" by this supposed big brother. Some people think thay are doing it to protect everyone else from them selves. But we all know it's only because they want power. At the moment I don't know if the person on the poster is real or he is just a representation of what said big brother would "look" like. If I had to make a guess then perhaps it is the face of the person who first organized the party.
