A long time ago people used to have sex when they got married. But since then everything has changed. Now teens have sex without thinking about the consequences. Teens shouldn't have sex at a young age for a number of reasons.
First, teen girls are not ready to be a teen parent. There are several reasons. They may not have a job, place to live, and a way to stay in school. Right now it’s really hard to find jobs and if the teen doest’t have a job they can’t support their child. Also, if they don’t have money, how are they going to pay the rent or bills to the house? In addition, it’s really hard to go to school if they have a child because they are away from their child and because they have to wake up in the middle of night. Although they need all the sleep that they can get, having a child can change that. Of course, by the time they are done school they have homework to do and a child to support at the same time. Therefore, people drop out from school because they can’t deal with school and childcare at the same time.
Secondly, teens have sex but don’t protect themselves from getting diseases. If they don’t want to end up in a STD clinic or with a baby, using a condom is a good idea. There are many STDs a person can get from have unprotected sex, including types of cancer, Herpes, Chlamydia, AIDS, Crabs, and Gonorrhea.
Third, girls don’t know how to act when their baby’s father leaves them. Overcome with emotions, they don’t know how to act because the situation is complicated. Maybe she loves him, or maybe she just wants him to be there for the child. Usually some guys just pack their stuff and walk away like nothing happened and move on. In general, guy these days just don’t say anything at all because they really don’t care. However, some girls only continue a relationship with their boyfriend because they have been disowned from their own family and have no one else to help provide for the baby. For the most part, their child comes first. So they truly will do anything.
In conclusion, teens that have sex now are making a big mistake. They could get pregnant, get diseases, and also can get heartbroken. Teens should seriously think about the risk they are taking before making a decision to have sex.
