symbolism
Symbolism is a technique in writting where an author uses an object to represent an idea. Symbol is most common in peotry and stories that rely on allergory. One story that has symbolism in it is 1984 because it is an allergory. One example was "As usualthe face of Emmanuel Goldstein, the Enemy of the people, had flashed on the screen. There were hisses here and there among he audience. The little sandy-haired woman gave a squeak of mingled fear and disgust." This quote is hsowing symbolism becasue it is showing how Goldstein back stabed big brother and what happens to people that back stabled big brother. Like in our world right now when someone is suppose to be your best friend or a close friend and they back stabe you or betray you we know what we would do. What we would do they would feel like dying just like in 1984. But it is worst in 1984 because you actually do die instead of feeling like you had died.
