Victory mansions
As I cracked the door a smell hit me in the face like I would imagine a boxer would if I called him stupid. I finally got the courage to enter Winston’s flat. As I walk in the first thing I notice is a large poster of a old grimy looking man, may be in his late 40's tacked on the wall. This poster seemed look as large as an elephant in a school hallway, much too big for the hall. In the corner of my eye I seen a slight shadow of something imitating an elevator, but could not get close enough to it due to all the dead mice and old dirty mats laid there to dry out. At that moment I asked what is that machine in the corner; he said “a lift". As we began to walk up the stares I asked how many stairs are there, he stated "more than meets the eye". I suddenly felt tired and wondered how long this climb would take us. Still smelling like dead rats, and mildew we made it. Directly as I walked in to his flat a voice jumped and slapped me in the face. Not expecting it I jump. I look over and a TV looking thing is speaking about something I never heard about. Before I even ask he dims the sound and tells me I will have to get used to that cause he cannot turn it off. This man was every ware on walls building sides corners of rooms, I wondered why but felt the subject may be to touchy to ask about. I was somewhat scared of being watched and heard so I decided to get out of there but no sooner than I ran out of the room I saw from the window a building called the ministry of truth. Winston claimed he worked there. I wondered why but decided not to ask. A weird and interesting visit but all in all I learned allot about how he is forced to live.
