1984 descriptions
Traversing up to Winston's apartment is a long, tiresome, and boring process. After entering through the main door, there is no decorations in the main lobby. The only things in there that took your mind off the bare white walls, were the front desk made of wood, a small bench, and a trash can. Not counting the "Big Brother" poster that covered the back wall. The wooden, sprial staircase, which almost feels as though it would break at any second, is the only way to reach the upper levels because there is no elevator. Once you reach the bare white hallway with gray carpeting, there is a row of rectangular doors that all look exactly the same, save for the number eched into the top of the door frame. Every three steppes you were almost garenteed the step on a lose floorboard the make a creaking sound that would make you want to claw at your ears.
