My thoughts on the HSPA

In my opinion, standardized tests like the HSPA are completely pointless. The only reason they have tests like this is to test us on how much we know, and where we need improvement. That in itself does not bother me that much, but if we fail then we cannot graduate. To me, it seems unfair to have us work hard all year earning good enough grades to pass, only to have our academic future decided on only one test. Because of the importance of this test, teachers relay extra rules to students and put them on a time limit to complete the HSPA, which only succeeds in making students panic. Also the way we take these test completely drives me up the wall. Every studens is sent out of their class to some spasfic room on the other side of the school, and is told that even muttering to yourself voids your test. I can't speak for anyone else, but nothing makes me want to scream at the top of my lungs than someone telling me to be quite. As I said before, I believe that tests like this are pointless and they should be completely removed from any school curriculum.
