parents have power

A person with power doesnt have to be the president, a principle or even a officer. A person with power could be as simple as a parent. My dad has alot of power in my house. He decides what the family eats or where we are gona live. He makes all the money; therefore, he decides what to buy. When he became married to my mom he gained a little bit of power over her. My mom is independent,but she still listens to what my dad wants. He isnt very mean and his rules are fair;making them easy to follow. I usually dont get in trouble; although, I do get in trouble at school. When I do his punishments are things I can deal with. Once he and my mother had children they both gained power. Being parents gives you the the power to decide what your child does and learns. As a kid gets older like I am my parents start to lose power over me. This is mainly because when a kid becomes an adult they are in charge of themselves. My parents rules wont apply to me unless im still living in their house of course. Even when a kid becomes a adult they should still listen and respect their parents even though they dont have power over them.
