Close Reading
Close reading is when you read a book, or piece of text very closely to find the alternate meaning, or the way you see it. This is a very useful tool when you enter college because it helps you understand the text further than you would if you just read through it quickly. In college it's much different than high school. In college you are asked for more attention and self teaching from the lectures the proffesser offers. In doing all this you will need to take quick accurate notes, and later (close read) the notes to refresh your brain about what you learned that day in class. The professor may assign you books/ novels your will be required to read and if you close read the book you will face the test that follows. This is the reason close reading is an important and good skill to have in college. It is also a good skill to have just in the world today so that you can read and comprehend what is said in the world. Close reading can help you in job interviews, and also if you get arrested to understand the rules and regulations of the place you are.
