Why is close reading a good thing for college? Close reading is good for college, because most reading is more in depth then just the text its self. Just reading the words to get a slight understanding of the article, book, or novel is only gonna work for some of the reading that you will come across. If your handed a book by shakesbher you wont be able to just read when you need to understand more then just what the text says. Most authors will have meanings within the text. So that you will need to slow down a read over the text either two or three times to fully understand what the meaning of the story really is trying to teach you. Most readers dont care bout what the story says. Like me forsay i could careless what the story is talking about, i just wana get it done.
