Close reading is when the reader has to pay close attention to the text and read slow and read the section about three or four times to actually get the whole meaning of the book or letter. The reason why close reading is a very valuable skills for college is so that the reader understands different things in literacy and they can extend on there knowledge. And also have different meanings and thoughts to the reading because everyone has their own meaning,thoughts and approach to things.
