''Close Reading''
Close reading is a valuable skill for college because there will be plenty of times your college professors give you reading assignments. Some day you might be instructed to read a novel and summarize it. Or you may have to read a novel one day and the next day you might be assigned to take a quiz or test on the novel you was instructed to read. Its good to practice close reading now while your in highschool because your teacher will explain to you and walk you through everything you need help with or dont understand. Once you get to college your instructor may not help you at all with your assignments. They will assign you a story to read and you will have to give a summary on what the story was about. If you already know how to do close reading you wont have to worry about anything. With close reading you have to read slow, reread, pay attention to all the details because they matter the most.
