CLOSE READING TALASIA

I believe that close reading is a vauable skill for college because that skill allows you to understand the reading more. In college the type of writings that they use have ambigutity, use contradiction, and are very complex. You have to watch what and how things are written to understand what the author is talking or refering to. For instance the bible is a famous peace of literature that most colleges use. I personally have to read it repetitively to understand it. It uses phrases that have hidden messages behind it. Close reading is a skill that allows you to read and think behind the words you see. It allows you to put different phrases together to establish a moral or to understand maybe the whole piece of writing. This is such a valuable skill because if you master the skill your able to automatically understand and comprehend different pieces of writing. It also adds to your vocabulary and it also inhances your thinkin process. Close reading can include reading that particular writing over over , reading slow ,and maybe even stoping to take notes. You have to pay close attention to the writing to make connections and to understand what the piece is saying to you.
