A symbol in the novel of 1984 is the color white. The color white symbolizes purity. Purity is like cleanliness . white being used as purity is in many other things other then the story. In the bible white is also used as of being clean or pure. White also would represent innocence . it usually represented in clothes or something that is easy to stain. In 1984 they use this symbol s purity also. "Come now, let us reason together," says the LORD. "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool . That quote is from the bible. Its in Isaiah 1-18. This is one example of how white is seen as purity. in the novel they wear a white sash . the anti-sex league I’m guessing needs to be pure. And white is the color designed to represent purity. And the armies which are in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and pure. That quote is also from the bible. It is just another quote that shows you how the color whit is used as purity. white symbolizes cleanliness.

the tech nology today is sooo high tech that way back then in like the 1950 and 19 40's they wouldnt have even thought of the kind of technology that we have this present day. we have cell phones ipods and laptops and flat screen tv's that no one really thought about in the older days the new tech nology in cars today is throwing cars into being almost completelly electrical powered and back then not a single soul would think that a car one day would be completelly electric powered...there are tv'sthat u can use as your omputer theres technology in medicine and how many lifes that it has saved to this present day...beleive it or not but theres technology is life today!

well thanksgiven like 7 years a go. i was uilding a barn in the morning. that morining we got up shot the turkey lol. the harvested the patatos an the yams the carrots an the salad. we then started the barn we buildt the who barn by noon. then we got washed up an got ready. then we went to our family diner it was a good dinner we ate alot of food. then the best part is the pie. who doesnt love pie tho. this thanks givin i had to get up right around 330 not fun had to drive to the art musium in philly at 445 to be there by 600 i didnt like that. i sat at the thanksgiving day paraide while my girlfriend danced in the paraide it was a long day but it wasnt cold witc was a good thing. my girlfriend wouldnt beable to bring my brandy i was kinda pissed tho but then went slept an ate all kinds of food.

The “Stop Online Piracy Act” is very similar to the book 1948. According to our “big brother” Mr. Smith says “SOPA is trying to control our lives”. They want to censor everything on the web! Everything we say will be monitored and watched, just like big brother watches Winston and everybody else in the town. It is so much alike, because they are trying to control our minds also by checking what we say and making us get in trouble so that we won’t say anything and we will try to say positive things instead of negative things. The same thing is happening in 1948, big brother is watching them so they try not to say the wrong thing or even make the wrong face because the thought police and the party will make them disappear. However, in real life SOPA will try to take us to jail. They want everybody to see the same thing, just like big brother wants everybody to see the same thing. They are trying to brain wash us into thinking that there is no explicit things on the web, but there are. Also, Americans have a right to their privacy. SOPA wants to take that all away just like big brother tries to take away everybody’s privacy in the book. However, I am a firm believer that history repeats itself. I know 1948 is going to happen one day, it may not have happened in 1948 but I believe it will sometime soon, and it seems as though it’s already starting.

theres alot of new technology created everyday. that theres so much that i couldnt keep up with. in the welding feild theres new tech everyday like a cnc machine is a great invention. they always new things made. i cant really just pic one thing to write about an i know i still got like 200 words to write. welll im goin out to work in like 30 mins so i got some other work to do in class but im a little sleepy. i havent finishd the book yet but i probaly will make it a lil farther then i am now but im gona call this done bc i got to do this study guide.

lakshmis style in the book sold is that after she got out of the happiness house and cops arrested the owner and all the other people she goes home and then she spends some time at home then she wants some money so gets into some people that makes her sell drugs so she can make her money to have food and clothes. when she comes home late for the past week at like 12 1 oclock her parents ask her why have you been coming in late she says i was hanging out with my friends her parents saids ok just dont make this a everynight thing u got alot of work too do in the morning so you need your sleep. so for the past year she has been gettin money and buyin nice things and her parents never asked her how she is gettin all these nice things until lakshmi pulls up in a new car that she buys for her mom and her mom asked her where she got the car from and she says she found it abandoned on the side of the road. so later that day the whole family goes out driving all day and night becasue they never really drove a car before. so 4 years later she is still doing her drug selling and she is 18 now and she saved up alot of money for the clothes and food that she wanted but one thing she wanted was a gun. she wanted a gun for her and her family protection just in case someone knows she has money and they know she sells drugs. so one night her and her family was asleep and someone came into her house and tryed robbing her and she woke up went to her little black box under her bed and she walked down the stairs and there he was standing in the kitchen. lakshmi points the gun at the guy and she shoots but the gun recloiles to much and she misses. the guy runs out of the back door and he gets away by the skin on his teeth. 2 months later she is still selling her drugs and and her parents still did not know how she was getin her money and finilly she told her parents she was sellin drugs. her parents were very dissapointed in her but she told her parents she needed money to survive. so one night she was on her way to make a deal and she got to the house and she left her gun at the house so she did not have nothing on her. so she had all her money she made for the week that she has to give to her dealer so she cant spend none of it. she give the money to the dealer and he says you 150 dollors short. she says ill get you the money in a week he says no your done as of tonight she asks what do you mean im done he says you will see. he turns around to get his gun and then he turns and shoots lakshmi in the head to kill her in a instant.

the climax of the story sold is about a 13 year old hill girl that use to live in Nepal she had an good life and never argued with anybody . her hole life changed when she got her first blood .her mother had taught her everything she need to know about how to treat her husband and what to do to please him. Since she got older her stepfather had made a deal he sold her to a lady. The whole time Lakshmi was traveling with these people she thought she was going to the city to be a maid , but she wasn't.everything went down hill when her auntie bilma sold her to her uncle husband& then uncle husband gave her to An old woman named Mumtaz ,that rules the brothel with cruelty and cunning. She tells Lakshmi that she is trapped there until she can pay off her family’s debt—then cheats Lakshmi of her meager earnings so that she can never leave.

I think the climax to the book called sold is when  lakshmi  leaves home with her fake aunt and takes her around differnt citties. because lakshmi thought that she was going to be a mad and to find a husband. but the travel a couple days to get to the places she has to go. lakshmi learnd alot of new things on the ride she realy didnt ask a lot of question cause her fake aunt will get mad. Then finaly they get to this old motel looking building and it is full of alot of girls. Lakshmi was kinda srared because she had to were this very then drees. and she allways cover up because thats whats she had been told by her parents.so now lakshmi has to go with this stranger and she was told to call this man husband but she didnt ask any question because she knows how anty get. husband made lakshmi lie about her age and every think to police. i pick this for the climax because this is were it fisrt srart at.

i think the climiax for this book call sold is when the gir git sold to the prostitution house and she feels like no one cares about her and shes sick and no one give her any attention to her in to one day she meat a american person and that american person give her a card and told her to call wen ever she fieal like leaving that spot and the girl call him for help .

I think the climax start when Lakshmi was sold to the people that buy her ! To the point when she was geting beat up by Mumtaz and drug by the tea that is called Lassi ! But Mumtaz told her if she want to leave that she will have to paid back the 2000 rupes which she buy her with . Which was only 1000 rupes that she buy her with. What i think is that Lakshmi been through a bad path. That cause her pain and sadness . I dont any girl should go through this even though she did bad things in life. Lakshmi is only 14 year old she dont know better . All thought her parents sold her, they dont have the right to do what they did.

When lakshmi was sold by her step father that was the climax becouse that was the riseing action when it started geting good.Then she got sold again to aunty then From aunty to Uncule Husben to Mumtaz wicth was mean and lied o her beat her with everything made her have sexual things with men to get money and to pay off her det to Mumtaz sold many girls as sex slaves in her happyness house wicth realy isent a happyness house its a place were bad things happen.Then lakshmi was forced to have sex with every man to get money and do everything to try to get them to her room and not get beat or make Mumtaz and mad.lakshmi got her hair pulled and cut by Mumtaz as a sign of disrespect.Lakshmi tryed to leave but the other girls said there is no way or hop and gave lakshmi condoms they said use ask the man to use it before anything happens they said some of the girls had died in the happyness house and Mumtaz got very mad that some girl did something.It was lakshmi trying to leave happyness house with a american man and at the very end it said my name is Lakshmi.

i believe the climax of sold is when lakshmi gets sold to the whore house and has to work for mumtaz to pay off her debt to her.in that part of the story her life drasticly changes for her and goes down hill. each and every day she has customers constantly do what they want to her like she isnt even human,but instead they treat her like an object for sex.she is always mistreated and abused and raped but she cannot really do anything about it really at this point.after shes been there for awhile an american shows up and offers her to get taken away to a clean place away from the whore house and after mumtaz gets arrested later in the book that wish happens for her and the other girls.

Sold climax

The Climax of Sold is well its "Sold".That's when she finds out that she a sex slave and has to owe Mumtaz. The debt Lakshmi owes Mumtaz She keeps track until she knows that there was no debt at all. Then plans to escape but doesn't want to face the consciences like hot chili's or getting disgraced and beatings. She waits weeks to get to the American sex traffic ativist.

In the Novel Sold what I think the climax of the book is the vignette called Happyness House do to the simple fact of that she was sold for a second time to a brothel and thinks it is a house for work but then finds out the real intention for her to be there and is scared for her life because she does not know what to do about the new work she was given. This vignette had a big impact on the later vingette by showing us a little pic if you could say of what will happen later on in book of what will progress as a result of being sold a second tome and how she handle everything that wiil go on after this chapter.

The climax of the book sold is the girl getting sold for sex for money. She had a good life before she was sold and now she have sex for money for older men she was sold three time one time by and old women and the other people too but i dont remember them. her life before this she went to school she went outside she played with other people she had fun with a life before she had when she lived with her family. But her stepfather sold her the frist time thats messed up just for money i couldnt have done that to anyone.

FREE WRITE 1/27/12

I guess I'll just talk to y'all about my showchoir some more. I feel like whenever we have a free write session I mention Harmony is some way, shape, or form. Either way, right now we haven't been having many performances. Which I think is a good thing because it means that we get to work two full weekends on numbers for out new show that we are putting together. It has a few of the same songs from the old show, but with a whole lot more to bring to the table.

So far we only know the first section of the show. There is supossed to be three sections to our new show meaning that we can have a half hour show up to a two hour show without much difficulty. I'm really quite happy with the new versions of songs we have and how most of the solos have been distributed. We are going to be doing a "Princess and the Frog" medley which makes me happy cause I love the feel of those songs. My favorite part is that I have a solo in one of the songs that I love. If you've seen the movie "The Princess and the Frog" you know that they meet an alligator named Louis. Louis wants to be human so he can play jazz with the big boys. Louis, Tiana, and prince Naveen sing "When We're Human" which is just them talking about what they will do when are human. The directors of Harmony decided that they would have me be the primary soloist for Louis' part of that song. It makes me really happy because it hits some really low notes that just make me glow with happiness. Well I've surpased the minimum of two hundred  words by more than a hundred. I'm just gonna leave it at that for now. Bye bye! Until we meet again (in the place where where there is no darkness).

My thoughts on 1984

I know that the purpose of this book it to serve as a warning to everyone in the world to never let any form of government become this powerful. To always remember to keep your eyes on the people who you call your leader. To listen to everything they tell you and whatever to prepose to you to make sure they don't end up selling out your free will to "ensure your safty". The whole idea of "Big Brother" in the book is to make sure that anyone who has power, stays in power even if it costs someone else there life. These punks don't care who they hurt or kill as long as they keep their "presious" power. To me, people like this, make me want to vomit. Not only does the inner party take away a persons freedom, but they also force them to abandon any and all free thought. Allow me to make myself to be as clear as possible, NO ONE, NOT A SINGLE PERSON ON THIS OR ANY OTHER PLANET HAS A POSITION OF POWER OR THE RIGHT TO FORCE YOU TO STOP THINKING ON YOUR OWN. THAT ABILITY IS RESERVED EXCLUSIVLY FOR WHATEVER DIEITY THAT SHAPED THIS UNIVERSE, AND NO ONE ELSE!

These punks think they can do whatever they please, I would fight to the very bitter end just to prove them wrong. Also at time, I find myself wondering what happened if one of the DC heros were enexpictably transported to the world of 1984, I would love to see what would happen next.

what should i talk about today? The weather nope the school nope or maybe the book I keep trying to read because if .I don’t ill fail my whole year umm… nope. Bonus from last friday

Last friday i was out getting my skills up, in video production, cause thats what im going to college for, and half these idiots really arent going to college , though they get spoon fed everything in every class simply because they decide not to pay attetnion, complain, then wionder why they dont understand a damn thing the teracher was just discussing in the front of the class, probably cause tause they were texting while he was supposed to be listening, well they wonder why o one leaves here to go to college but only to join the workforce, well i guess thats why this is a tech school then. Never the less, this weekend i am certainly going out to enjoy myself for if i have bad grades on my report catrd im going to be locked down in my crib til the next report card comes out, but im more about my gpa rising, well on this certain occasion, itss falling, but i guess theres just nthing i can do about it now, because teachers dont decide to tell you that your failing until you already cant do shit about it so whats the point of ewven telling me? Just let me hold my pride atleast until i get my grades in my hand to look at them, but they say its a warning to notify so im not shocked when i get it, though im shocked right now.. i wonder how that works, funny huh?

A long time ago people used to have sex when they got married. But since then everything has changed. Now teens have sex without thinking about the consequences. Teens shouldn't have sex at a young age for a number of reasons.
First, teen girls are not ready to be a teen parent. There are several reasons. They may not have a job, place to live, and a way to stay in school. Right now it’s really hard to find jobs and if the teen doest’t have a job they can’t support their child. Also, if they don’t have money, how are they going to pay the rent or bills to the house? In addition, it’s really hard to go to school if they have a child because they are away from their child and because they have to wake up in the middle of night. Although they need all the sleep that they can get, having a child can change that. Of course, by the time they are done school they have homework to do and a child to support at the same time. Therefore, people drop out from school because they can’t deal with school and childcare at the same time.
Secondly, teens have sex but don’t protect themselves from getting diseases. If they don’t want to end up in a STD clinic or with a baby, using a condom is a good idea. There are many STDs a person can get from have unprotected sex, including types of cancer, Herpes, Chlamydia, AIDS, Crabs, and Gonorrhea.
Third, girls don’t know how to act when their baby’s father leaves them. Overcome with emotions, they don’t know how to act because the situation is complicated. Maybe she loves him, or maybe she just wants him to be there for the child. Usually some guys just pack their stuff and walk away like nothing happened and move on. In general, guy these days just don’t say anything at all because they really don’t care. However, some girls only continue a relationship with their boyfriend because they have been disowned from their own family and have no one else to help provide for the baby. For the most part, their child comes first. So they truly will do anything.
In conclusion, teens that have sex now are making a big mistake. They could get pregnant, get diseases, and also can get heartbroken. Teens should seriously think about the risk they are taking before making a decision to have sex.

Free Write

Since this Friday we have a chance to do a free write so i've decided to blog about the books that we are assigned to read. I think that if the students are the ones who have to read them, be quizzed on them, and if we are assigned to do any other class assignments or projects on the novel. We " The students" should be the ones who choose what book we read. I know its the teachers job to give the work but its the least they can do. Maybe if we had a book of our own interest to read we will actually take time out of our day to read it. Doing this will make everything so much better and I bet those quiz scores will definitely begin to increase. All the teachers have to do is let each class choose a novel and leave each book out. Then each class could vote on what book the class should read. This is an easy process for not only the students but for the teacher too because there will only be about five books and the class vote will determine which book the class will read. This will decrease all the complaints we have about the novels that the teachers choose for us to read. Sometimes its not that we are refusing to takes quiz or try. Its hard to stay focused on something that doesn't seem interesting to you at all.You will be easily destracted while trying to read the novel.

My Bronco

Today this free write is going to be about my Bronco. I got it back saturday from the shop. I was so happy when i got it back. My dad also said he put something new on the truck so i went outside and look at the truck and found out he put new manual lock in hubs on my truck. I was so excited that day. So anyway the next day I was so excited to drive the truck. So the engine light came on and we went to the store to check it out. After we got that all done we went to the gas station and put gas in my truck. After we were all done i dropped my dad off and went to my sisters and went wheeling. That truck is so good in the mud. So i drove it to school for 2 DAYS. The second day i was making things in my shop for my truck so i had my friend Bob come out to help me. So after We were all done getting the tools out of my truck. Bob closed the gate and the back window broke! So I got home told my dad what happened and he said it must have been a crack that you couldnt see. So now tomorrow i have to go to the junk yard with my dad to get a new window and then ill be driving my truck again

Gym class

Today in gym class we had picked teams for volley ball. Out of the whole senior class divided into four teams. The members in my team are Shaun Rashad Natalie Brianna and John. John and Brianna are the team captains. I feel like we have a good solid team all around. Before the teams were chosen I was concerned if i would like my teammates. I was also concerned that my team would not have enough talent to be the best team. After the teams were picked they were all pretty fair and equally talented. The tournament does not start until two weeks from now but next week we will be scrimmaging. Out of the three other teams their is only one team that I think my team will lose to. I think this because the other tesm has the two tallest boys in the entire gym class. Not only are they tall but they are very talented in volleyball. Sometimes when they spike the ball it moves so fast that I become afraid to try and hit it. I would say the best thing i do while playing volleyball is setting people up to hit or spike the ball. The senior class has been playing volleyball all through out the second marking period. Now that its the third marking period we get to actually play as real teams and compete. I am real excited to see who wins i hope it my team.

SOPA relates to the book 1984

SOPA and the book 1984 do relate to each other. SOPA is to try to snuff out piracy online. The places that SOPA is targeting is Facebook and Google because of the language that people use are not right.Another reason why the higher people are targeting Facebook and Google is people use them sites every day. SOPA is designed to do two things. “The first was to make it possible for companies to block the domain names of web sites that are simply capable of, or seem to encourage copyright infringement. This would have been bad for everyone because such a measure doesn't actually prevent piracy. The other, still-active measure present in the SOPA bills would allow rights holders to cut of the source of funding of any potentially infringing web site. This means any other companies doing business with this site would have to stop.” Many of websites have spoke up because of SOPA. Some of them websites are Twitter, Google, Reddit, Kickstarter, Tumblr, Mozilla, Yahoo, AOL, eBay, Zynga, Facebook, and several other sites. Now in 1984 there is no privacy. In Oceania there are cameras every where no matter where you go. There are always people watching, reading, and listening to every little thing you do. Another example of no privacy in 1984 is that if the thought police think or believe that you are thinking something you will be in a lot of trouble. Just like Winston had started to write in this small little book and if he gets caught writing in it he will be in a lot of trouble because that is double thinking which is against the law.

SOPA

If the internet had existed during the time 1984 took place, SOPA would have been one of the laws passed. It seems to fit right in because they are all about editing, monitoring and picking what the people in the party see and hear. The bill was said to be passed to stop piracy, but if the government or internet provider will be the ones picking and determining what sites have piracy. So they could shut down any sites they choose to, and no other explanation will be needed other then it has piracy. Some of our favorite sites could be shut down and will be if such bill is passed. I think that this bill relates so much to the principles of the party, especially the inner party. In the book, they control just about everything the people hear and see; and in my opinion this is exactly what the government is trying to do in passing this bill. If you take the time to compare what they do it the book and what this bill will do, there is not much difference other than ours is on the internet and theirs is basically their whole life style. And maybe this seems minor or not that big of a deal, but what if this was just a start to what the party and big brother have done to the people; because I am sure this mind control in the book didn’t just happen over nigh, it much have developed over many years. I think that SOPA is a start to the government attempting to control what we see and hear.

free write on a book called "the first part last"

One book every student in the sophomore class must read the book The First Part Last. I think it’s a good book. Many students think the book is interesting because it’s dealing with teen pregnancy. For instance more teens are having babies in high school. In addition, it’s about taking responsibilities for the mistakes and good things a teen couple made and has to deal with. Also the book teaches us about the consequences of having sex.
In high school more teens are having kids at a young age and really don’t know what to do. For instance they want to come to school but do not have a babysitter or a daycare their baby can go to. Some teens are having babies because their friends are pregnant, and they make it seem easy when they speak about it but which they fail to realize they are probably getting a lot of help. Some teen girls get pregnant and want to keep their babies when they know their boyfriends does not have a job and his parents want him to do it on his own.
When having a baby it’s a big responsibility. Most teens do not plan on having a baby but when it comes down to it they have to take care of it either way. Some teens get an abortion or give their baby up for adoption and they realize they are making a big mistake. Some teens do not believe in abortions so they do the right thing when they can’t take care their babies give them up for adoption to a family that can take care of them.
All teens think they know the consequences of having sex. Some teens are not prepared for the consequences that may come there way. Just because they use condoms and use birth control it’s always that percentage that does not count. Some teens get peer pressured into having sex especially by a boy they think is really cute.
Their parents wouldn’t want their kids to read this book because it’s about teens that’s about to have a baby. It’s a good book because its letting teens know its not easy to have a baby. It let them know anything could happen to you if you have a baby at a young age like death. It let young teens know it’s a big responsibility to take care a baby alone. So CCTS sophomore class should read the book The First Part last.

Although chances are it won’t pass considering people state it contradicts free speech and, have proof behind what they are stating, it still hurts that they would even try to do this.

Sopa relates too the book 1984 because basically Sopa is watching everything you do or say on the internet. So lets just say you happend to say ' Im going to kill ' and they just so happend to see what you said to whoever you did, you could of been playing but your automatcially going to be investigated even if you were joking. You better have alot of money and some good lawyers to have a good reason as to what you said because Sopa doesnt play around when it comes to certain words. Just like the book Big brother is watching your every move, he doesnt even have to be really watching and people are terrrified just by people putting up the posters of his face they feel as though they being watched so there being careful and making sure they dont break any rules. If anyone is even suspicious in going against them or not doind as told your going to be taking and asked for questioning. No one has no type of privacy in the book and if they want it they better be sneaky like Julia and Winston was. Both relate because both are being watched to what they do and say, kidding or not doesnt matter on what the disscusion was about you will be taking and in big trouble, and you better have a real good explanation on why whatever was said was said. In both scenarios you basically have no type of privacy whats so ever which isnt fair but no one has no say.

SOPA Vs. 1984

The SOPA bill relates to the book 1984 because the bill allows law enforcement to censor the Internet. Basically if law enforcement doesn't like it, agree with it, or support it; they can censor it so you can't read it. This is similar to 1984 because in the book "Big Brother" censors and alters newspapers and books to ensure the party is always right. Both the bill and the book allow the government to change or cover up information the they don't want other people to see. Also, the punishment for committing a crime isn't as harsh as in 1984, but it is still pretty steep; five years in prison. Both the party in the book and the SOPA bill say they are protecting you but they are really violating your freedom of speech rights. In the book 1984 the party uses spies and T.V. screens to watch what you are doing and they have a whole building dedicated to falsifying information to agree with the government. The SOPA bill tells the Internet service provider to monitor and block websites, advertisements, and online articles. In conclusion, both the bill and the party use their governmental power and authority to control the citizens.

Climax

I think the climax of the book sold was when the second american came to the house and gave her the card and told her that he will be back as soon as he can to come back and get her out of the house so she wont have to be there but insted she gave the street boy his card so he could go to america and be free and have a better place to live and find a family that loves him and get him into school and have a better life then he do now.She helping him out because he always help her out with free tea and soda and what ever food she wanted and she helped him cause he needed the card more then she did.When the new boy came around she couldent find where the street boy went and the new kid ask for the money first he not like the other kid. So she thinks he went to america with that guy to go live free and not have to work and just be a regular kid and be happy for the rest of his life. So i think that was the climax of the book.

I think that the most exiting or climax is when mumtaz comes to get her. She thinks that it is to free her,Mumtaz tells Lakshmi to gather her stuff that she going home. Now that she is no longer a vergin she must leave. Mumtaz didnot say exacly were she was going all she said was home, it could have bin Mumtaz's home or even Lakshmi;s home home. But as soon as Lakshmi hered the word home she asoomed that it was her house, she tholt that she was free. Her heart started pumping extra fast she dident no what to do. But it was to be a slave for Mumtaz, Mumtaz was going to take her to a house were there are other none vergin girls live where she would have to share beds with them, she dident like that,for her first time in a long time she felt like crying again.....

i think the part in sold that i think is the climax is when she got sold to the happyness house and then she found out that her family would not be gettin none of the the money she got sold for and all the guys she is having sex with her parents still dont get none of the money.i think this is the climax of the story because it really tells you how her life is going to be and why her paretns get none of the money and really tells you alot of her life now that she is in the happyness house. the most favorite part i liked that told me about the climax was when she found out her parents were goin to sell her to the happyness house and she dident know what was goin on at the time and when she got their they shaved her head and gave her drugs so if they shaved her head they know that she wouldent run away and they gave her drugs so she wouldent remeber nothing or fight back or argue with them of why she is here. but but i really dident like how the book ended and i think this book is not a book i would wanna read again.

the main part in soul was muntaz wasnt sending money back so she found out and said she done she wants out. So she got tired of muntaz lieing and getting away with everything. muntaz tryed to get away with everything but she finally found out the truth. Like why should u go thorough something like that if she not doing anything in return and not sending money out. muntaz doesnt want anybody escapeing so she cuts their hair so they cant escape and they would reckanize if anybody escaped. muntaz main idea is make sure everybody does everything for her and dont escape and do everything for free.

The climax of sold so when she got raped. That explaine the book because she been threw alot over a while now. She got sold and she had to cut her hair because they put her as a prstural. She did not know what to do. But she mad it out and been threw it all. That was said because she was a teenger the age 13, going threw these things like this. This could mess up her future for doing this to her. But she got helped by the police officer and she got away from the life tht she was goiun to live in. I know i would kill myself if i had to live like that. I would go crazy and not know what to do. But she keep on fighting thew it every day that happen to her. I think her stepdad sold her for some money. I think that was not right because she did not know what was happen to her. But at the end like i said the cops came and saved her from the path that she was stucked in for a while now. I cant belive this steel happen to people and young teens today. I cant live like that sad and terrible to do to people that have plans for their future but they get sold and get druged up and kills your brain cells and you could die from it. So be careful where u go because these could happen to you if u dont know the place that good.

"Sold" climax

To me the Climax of the story is when Lakshmi is waiting for her American Cop to come and save her,she waits and waits packs her things but no one comes its to the point where she starts to think she seeing him or hears him when she looks back.Then Mumtaz finds out someone be trade her and people who betrey her get punished so she gets a burning hot chilley paste thats put on a stick and punshes them.Lakshmi noticed she was preparing it and started to get parnored when Mumtaz started comeing towards Lakshmi she started begging for forgivness and Mumtaz just kicked her down and moved on Lakshmi was relieved that it wasnt here.It was one of the other girls and they wer punished for recieving a gift from one of the customers and thats forbieden.When Mumtaz was done with her she came towards Lakshmi and said did you do anything to disobey me and she was stuck she put her foot and her head and pushed all her wait on her and Mumtaz asked again did you do anything to disobey me,Lakshmi finally replied and denied it all.So Mumtaz Llet her go and she was full of relief but was in pain as well.To me thats the climax of the story it was almost towards the end of the story but it was the most important part because if Mumtaz didnt believed her about not being disobeyed she would of gotten beating bad and would have to confess about her American and her plan to be saved would of failed so she would been stuck there or even worse.

the main climax of sold

The main climax of the story sold to me was that when she get sold not the first time, not the secound time, but the third time. When laskmi founds out that she is not there to work like as a house maid but to work there to be a sex slave. i believe that this was the most important part or the (climax) of the story. the reason why i think this is the most important part of the story is because the whole theme of the story is "SOLD" but also because laskmi final realize that she was sold to bad people. And not what she though that she sold for, but also this helps to realize that there is not all good in the world. For laskmi there was much more then beyond her little mountain where her life was nice and simple. Laskmi was a little girl that got deit a cruel hand in life, that was not her fault. But even so there was problems where she goes like when she was at home there was the change of dead for the lack of food even if her little simple life there was still problems. Even if it was simple it was not complax like the city, in the end she wishes to be home where her simple life was.

Sold. The most important part in this book is when the first time she got sold, she didnt understand why she was getting sold that part of the book was very crazy because after that she was sold to more than one person. If it was me in that situation i would of been sarced out of my mind it would of hurt me in ways i cant image. I finger that part would be the mind topic of this book. The author was letting me know, ''Be thankful for what you have''. Because i have the power to live my life how i want to, but she had no chioce she had to be sold,raped for money, and focer to do things she didint want to do. The main bold point is sold. Thats why the book is called sold. She had been though the worst her soul has been taken from her. This book was very strong it makes me look at things differnetly be thankful for your family, friends and most important your suroundings. This was a good book, bad ending but a good book.

Free Blog - for last friday

When I finish high school, I am planning on going to college. I do not know which school I will end up going to but I think it will be one close to my family, just because I would want to remain close by. So far my mind is set on studying psychology; I will, if possible, try to get a doctoral degree in psychology. This is so I can become a psychologist. This career choice seems so cool to me. I think it is because all the interesting things I will learn studying the human mind and behaviors. I would also think to receive a minor, just because I don’t want to just have one career option. If I do pick I minor it would be in science, business or photography. If I was to pick science it would be to help me out in by psychology work because I know that psychology involves a lot of science classes also. If I was to pick business; it would be so I can learn how to manage a business, and someday have my own. But if I pick psychology, it would be simply because I like it. I enjoy taking pictures, and I have always liked to look at pictures other people have taken. I would have loved to learn how to take pictures like professionals do. I do not know yet which one I am sticking with but at this moment I am closer to going with photography as my minor.

My Licence

When I got my Licence I was so happy, I thought I wasnt gonna past but i did. I thought it was really hard. It was fun and quick. Now I just cant wait to get my car.I wish i could get out of a Honda,Acura or Nissan. I love those 3 brand alot and they not very expensive. I wish i could a car for my gradutation.I always wanted to drive because it so fun. But it could be so dangerous.

I think by far the most reaccuring theme in the book 1984 is mind control. It should be obvious to every character in the book that their own government, which they allow to continue to exsist, is doing everything it can to make sure they have absolute control over all that they govern. From having their hedious leaders face plastered all over their city, to installing small cameras in everybodies home, to getting children to rat out on their own parents, they have no problem breaking every moral rule imaginable, just to make sure they keep their presious power. Weather they are so determined to to stay in power because they have become accustom to that kind of life style or because of that old saying "those who have power, fear losing it" but it is obvious that everyone in the inner party is just running things for themselves.there was alot of mind control in the story like telescreen, the victory and much more

symbols in 1984

the novel 1984 had a lot of symbol but the one that i like the most was,the Big Brother poster, its like hes looking right at you with his huge eyes. I mean when you look at it its like if I were living back in the day I would feel like hes looking straight at me even though its just a poster with his face on it. Its just there are some things that you can look at and get a feeling that it might be looking right back at you. Getting back to the poster even though its just a poster its like hes still watching over everyone in the town. Its as if the poster saying Im watching you no matter what so what ever you try Ill find out, so desoite the fact that its still a poster people still behave because of the fear they have towards him. When I think of Big Brother I think of someone who is worship by people but not in a good way because he is forving them and allowing them only to do what he wants. He basically just wants to have power over everyone and what they do. Big Brother sounds all nice, you would think its like someone watching over you and making sure you make good choices but its all a scam.

Winstons apartment as i arrived was empty only with a tv and a chair a cielingand a fan and a sink and a toilet winstons room walls were covered with big brother posters he had book with the year 1950 but i could swore that they were older he had no soap so he couldnt take a shower tha thoughts in his head when he told me took about an hour i was so sympathetic i couldnt bieleve it the floor they had creases .The wood was missing the windows were tinted so no one could look into them. the floor was dirty they look old like yellow from nicotine i though i was in a nightmare Winstons was so stressed he started looseing hair . hair was all over some in the corners i felt bad for winston its ashame. It seem like he hasnt clean the place in years. smells like cabbage an dirty dishes. now time to leave its pertty nasty in there.

The novel 1948 by George Orwell has a lot of symbolism in it. Symbolism is a technique in writing where an author uses an object to represent an idea. An example of symbolism in the book would have to be the slogan “War is Peace, Freedom is Slavery, Ignorance Is Strength”. It symbolizes how big brother tries to brainwash people. People today, in 2012 would never believe this slogan, however people in the book 1948 and completely controlled. Big brother watches them while they are out, at work, and even in the privacy of their own home! People who are married cannot have any emotional relationship with their spouse, nor can they enjoy sex. The only time the couple can be intimate is if they are making a child. Unfortunately, if the wife cannot conceive the two will be split permanently. There are many more symbols in the story and none of them are good. Something else that is a symbol in the book is the three tall sky scraper buildings that are higher and sparkle more than any other building. They represent “the party” and big brother. It represents how they are above everybody and the buildings glitter like gold. However, all that glitters is not gold. Big brother and his party use a lot of symbolism, and the symbolism brainwashes the people in the town. One of the main symbols in the book is the big telescreen with a picture of a guy with a big moustache pointing is a BIG symbol, because the pictures are all over the town and its telling you that big brother is watching YOU!

Its December 24 and normally on Christmas Eve we dont open presents not even one little one. But for some reason this year we got to open one gift before Christmas Day. This year was a pretty good though. Christmas morning all gifts were under the tree and and my mom and stepdad made a bug breakfast. Around 9 we all gathered around in the living room and started seperating gifts to whom they belonged too. Every moment was a goofy one and everyone enjoyed their gifts. After opening gifts we al cleaned up and left to my grandparents house where we opened more gifts from other family members. After a couple hours we had a huge dinner like we normally do where we shared stories and took lots of pictures. I met family members that I had never met before and we exchanged numbers and now we all keep in touch. Being with family is very important and the moments cherished will always have a special part in your life.

Well its December 25 2011, Im Armond Foster and im going to write about my Christmas.Just waking up on a Sunday morning looking around to see what I got for Christmas. I look in the dining and I see a stool with a tiny metal Christmas tree on it and me and my brothers presents are under the stool and tree. First i look like are u serious and then I realized this is life and anything is possible so what the heck and then I laugh. I grab my present and look to see what was n there and there was a robb and pajamas. It was cool because my dad was really creative and humorest. Well the later half of the day I was watching the basketball game and then went to my aunt house. Me my dad and my brother dressed up and left. We arrived to my aunts house it was a good turn out my family and I enjoyed every moment and every second. Then the Lakers and Bulls came on so the fun and Games stoped in my opionion. The season opener on Christmas day was hugh to me and my opionion for the LAKERS. The game was neck and neck the hole game pretty much it was crazy. Kobe was being Kobe and Derick Rose was just as good it wasent wat I would I would had liked but it was entertaining from begaining to the end. Lakers came out on the short end but it was a great performence from both teams. Well We say goodnight and go home.

Im on the train and I see lakshmi . My first reason is what going on? Why do she look like that ? What happen to her ? And then I would walk up to her and ask her if she need help ! . this thanksgiving i shared it with my brother because my mom went away so thanksgiving morning i woke up and got drees went down stairs to cook things to go over my aunts and grandma's so i baked three cakes, bake mac & cheese and chocolate chip cookie then i took my self to my aunts house then i help her finish her meals then i call my aunts and cousin's  to come over to eat then we watch a movie called the roomate then some people went to sleep in went home and then help my aunt clean up... in that's what i did for thanks giving

in the story on page 33 thers is a vignette and its called what disaster sounds like and she says that when the night rain soaks the ground the paddy melt away. when the rice plants are sucked out of the earth one by one and washed down the slope. there should be a sound a noise announcing that something is terribly wrong. instead there is a ghostly hush that tells us we have lost everything. what she means buy this that it was verry rainy out if over filled all the plants and there patty melt is washed away and there at nothing again so they dobnt have anythig rite now and what they mean buy the ghost is that its so quiet after all this that there is litterly nothing

Today i am supost to write about my favorite vignette about the the novel "SOLD". But i really really really dont like the novel "SOLD". So that means I dont have a favorite vignette of the book sold. Insted of me lyeing and telling you that I do like this book and makeing up some kind of story trying to convince you ill rather tell you what i think about the book. The book sold is about a girl getting sold as a prostitute to some random stranger buy her own father. I think thats messed up to begin with but I really cant get into this book because theres weird names that i and other people cant pernounce. The book is not even from today, its from like the 1800's. Like i cant even compare to anything besides that back in the 1800's then was messed up. So this is what i really think of this book and i dont mean to afend people to the people who acualy like this book but as i said before and ill say a hundred times more i really dont like this book and it really does not intrest me at all.

I think that the symbol from this passage is presented by the description of the food. The way the food is described makes a person feel the oppression that the people under Big Brother feel. Just imagine going through the same thing day after day at work (I know, you probably already have to do that). While you are at work you are constantly being watched by your supperiors, and if you make even the slightest slip up in your complexion you can get arrested. While at work you all have a break where you go down to the lunch room. Everyday you get the exact same food, and everyday you get to talk with people; however, you have to watch where your topics go because if they hear/see something that isn't as it should be you can be arrested for Thoughtcrime.

Even when you go home you are being watched. If you don't follow everything that needs to be done when the Party says that it needs to be done you can get in trouble. You have to be careful with what you even think because sometimes the thoughts will find a way to play across your face. Even if you don't notice it, the Thought Police could possibly have seen it meaning that you have committed Facecrime. This is how the people in Oceania live everyday. They are oppressed in every manner of life. There is no such thing as privacy.

One of the biggest syumbols of the book 1984 to me, it has to be the Ministry of Truth building, which is a huge white pyramid type building, and also the tallest building, to me the height stands for being a leader of all the buildings or the one with the most power, the color, white, stands for purity and being pure without any evil sins or thoughts, and being a pyramid stands for the poeple inside being more then great but kings and more then just normal people.

So far my senior year is going really well for me. For the first marking period my report was good. I was actually one grade away from making honor roll. My history grade needed more improvement and I would of been there. But for this marking period I think I can make honor roll and if I dont atleast I would be very close to it. In my shop I always keep an A for every marking period I am very close to 100% actually. My 4th period class is spanish with Ms. Predroza Im also doing good in here class Im trying to get an A but I always seem to get a B. A few extra points and I will be there. After spanish is English well this class I should say I always get a good grade in this class too. After I finish these blogs and turn in my reading log for this very boring book we are reading called "1984" my good should be an A again because right now it really isn't look very well. I know I didnt really do good on my quiz on the story because the book doesn't seem to get my attention AT ALL. I cant wait until the class is finished reading it. After english I have gym and as a suprise Im actually doing pretty good. Normally my gym class grade is bad because I hate gym but this year I really tried my best to put up with it. My hard work actually paid off.

1984's theme

I think by far the most reaccuring theme in the book 1984 is mind control. It should be obvious to every character in the book that their own government, which they allow to continue to exsist, is doing everything it can to make sure they have absolute control over all that they govern. From having their hedious leaders face plastered all over their city, to installing small cameras in everybodies home, to getting children to rat out on their own parents, they have no problem breaking every moral rule imaginable, just to make sure they keep their presious power. Weather they are so determined to to stay in power because they have become accustom to that kind of life style or because of that old saying "those who have power, fear losing it" but it is obvious that everyone in the inner party is just running things for themselves. I do find myself wondering how these people manage to sleep at night with all the horrible crimes against humanity they are commiting.

Wintstons apartment.

Winston lives in Victory-Mansions, but it is funny to know that his apartment is run down and dingy so it is basically a contridiction to itself.
With that said, to describe his apartment i could say that from his view, he is basically walking into a prison cell, where every move he makes is watched and every sound he makes is heard, he is not allowed any weird ideas because there are also THOUGHTPOLICE who hear tyour thoughts, one word, hell.

This Crhistmas was a very very special one to me. I actually got more gifts and money then i expected, even though i did not tell anyone to get me anything, so i feel that this year my parents and grandparents felt i deserved much more and i hope that is how they really feel because i love to impress and show them that i work hard during my school hours and when i get home im out of trouble and being productive along with making money on the side with my dad or the deli i work at four times a week. I felt like a lot of people are starting to see me as more then jus an indivuidual or a worker and even more then just being there i feel like i am leaving a presence that stays wherever i go after i leave and my boss even gave me a big christmas bonus that was never asked for and at first i could not take it, but he convinced me i deserved it, and to to tell the truth i feel as if i did deserve it and every single day more and more people are starting to see me as an adult instead of some random kid that just turned 18 and is about to do nothing with themselves or thier life, such as pursuing a further education or joining the work force like a lot of people that i see every single day just ruing thier lives, but i have been taught better and this is the reason why i am already working and i am going to take a road to college because i feel that even if some things that i learn are not helping me out right now, they might help me out later in life, and having a job and college at the same time, i feel like that is going to teach me more responsibility. Your probably wondering why all this has nothing to do with christmas but it doesn indeed, see this whole year i have been sitting back and really obversing the world and absorbing everything thats been going on, with that said, this past christmas made me really appriciate life and every thing i have because its not always going to be there, and neither are you.

As I opened the door to Winston's apartment I was smacked in the face with a smell like no other. It smelled like a blend of old gym socks, that sat in the locker for a couple weeks, and the nasty school bathrooms after chilly Tuesday. As i took a look around I the apartment I could not help, but feel the cents of loneliness. The entire apartment seemed to be dark and depressing like a homeless kid on a cold,dark snowy night. All I could hear was the light chatter coming from the telescreen it almost sounds like the whisper of wind, when you stand out in a field in the middle of the summer. What really caught my eye was a small desk which sat in the Conner behind the book shelf like a small dog hiding for bath time. I could not wonder why the desk would be in such a weird place at first i thought that it was simply not in use but as I took a closer look I could tell, by the fresh pen, that the desk was recently used.

Imagery

A trip to Winston's apartment would be kind of boring to me. He didn't really do much inside his apartment besides write in his journal. If I was him I would feel trapped. I can just amagine. First of all on the way to his apartment all around him are the BIG BROTHER is watching you posters he seem to not be able to excape from the posters physically and mentally the BIG BROTHER posters always seemed to be on his mind no matter what. It was as if every where he went or looked the posters were surrounding him. Once he finally got away from the posters which was when he actually gets to his apartment he has a telescreen which invades his privacy even more. The telescreen would probably be posted on one of his walls inside his small apartment watching his every move. What made this telescreen even worst was the fact that not only did it get the visual image of everything Winston did in his apartment the telescreen also could hear every movement or sound he made in there too. The fact that Winston knows that this telescreen is watching him would really get annoying. It would be annoying because it was almost as if the telescreen was recording his life. On top of the posters surrounding him every where he went and looked and always being on his mind and the telescreen watching every move he makes when he's inside his apartment, there was the thought police who actually had the right to invade every ones privacy they were very similar to spies and there was nothing that Winston could possibly do about it. So you can really just amagine what a trip to Winstons apartment would be like because to me it would get really annoying.

Mind Control

Have you ever felt like you were being controlled? Living a life that you don't fully have control over mentally. Well in the book 1984 their were a lot of examples of mind control. When Winston first moved into his apartment the most noticeable thing in their was the telescreen. This telescreen was basically like a monitor that spied on Winston. It could hear everything he said during the day and night time. Could you imagine living alone and never being able to say your real thoughts out loud. Some people think its crazy to talk to yourself but i believe a person would go crazy if they cant let out their opinions and thoughts. But not only was it bad that Winston knew what he said would be heard but he also had to worry about not saying anything against Big Brother or their would be bad consequences. I can relate to this because its almost like when I would sit inside behavior development aka BD. I got so bored and frustrated that i had to sit through a whole day of school in the same room not saying or doing anything. I would just have my thoughts and after thinking for a long time good thoughts turn into bad thoughts. I can only imagine how bad Winston felt when he had to live a lot of his life like this. Maybe it was easier for Winston because he did not have the temptations i had to want to text or listen to music. One common thing I'm sure have in common is the desire to express ourselves freely. Do you have this same desire?

Winstons Apartment

As I went into Winstons apartment I could smell his room before I even opened the door, the smell was so nasty and strong it smelled like boiled cabbage and old rag mats. His apartment its dark he doesn’t have bright colors or anyhting to bring it out. I walked inside and he asked me to sit when all I really wanted to do was go back out. I played it cool though, I didn’t want to make it obvious I was very uncomfortable though. We talked for a bit then the televison came on it was the new but he didn’t care much about it so we continued on talking. I feel as though that maybe Winston is against Big Brother and if word gets around he just doesn’t know the trouble he can get in.

Thanksgiving Story

On thanksgiving i was in the kitchen cooking all day with my grandma and sister my mom didnt want to cook this year.Because she cooked all our life and it was double the food at my house cause it was extra people coming and after everything got done we sat around played, danced, and i left to go free load at my family houses.And my hole family is like clowns we all like to play around and then left there and went to my boyfriend house to chill with his family and then went back home ate some sweet potato pie and ice cream is so freaking good and went to my room and my cousin jerica called me to watch my cry baby sincere but i love him though while she did some shopping.

Thanksgiving

On Thanksgiving my family and I are always together. I’ll never forget one Thanksgiving of 2010 when my father was still in the lady Of Lourdes Hospital, which had to be the worst Thanksgiving of my life. We prepared a feast on Thanksgiving, and took it up to the hospital and they were kind enough to give us a big recreation room to our selves. They wheeled my dad into the room to eat with us and it immediately made my heart drop. He wasn’t the same happy guy he was, he looked at all of us as if we weren’t even his family. However, we all tried to be as happy as we could without showing him we were all crying inside. We made all our plates and sat down and ate, and my Dad didn’t even touch his food, because of the massive headache he had from the doctors removing half of his skull. Unfortunately, within another ten minutes or so he asked the nurse to wheel him back into his room so he can lay in his bed and watch the news all night until he fell asleep and did it all over again. On Thanksgiving of 2010 I was thankful that my dad was still alive, however he acted as if he were dead anyway! That Thanksgiving is one that I would rather erase from my life, because it was the worst thanksgiving for me, and I know it was one of the worse for everybody also .. especially my father.

winstons apartment

winstons apartment is not very color full. he only has one couch one table an 2 chairs. the telescreen never turns off. in his aprtment there is a 4x4 poster in his living room. the kitchen is very dirty an small. not to pany plates glasses or silverware. he only has a little frige very out of date. has only a few things to eat. his bed room is very small with another telescreen in it that is always on. a poster of big brother but not as large. there is only 1 windo in his aprtment in the living room. it is a very dimmly lit apartment theres flys around the lights. looks like he hasnt clean the place in years. smells like cabbage an dirty dishes. now time to leave its pertty nasty in there

human-sexuality

i have an specific set of example like when winsten was going off into the woods with julia. Then when julia was expressing her feelings to winsten after they met in the cafiteria. then after a whole extent of them getting to know each other they began to discuse the difference in the city how they want to escape but cant so but as they continue to talk they start to discuse they anti sex group and then they have a free life mainly on their decussion of sex so after a while they deside to go off into the woods together and they went against they city and their groups. they wound up creating fornication and julia going along with the sneak away with winsten. in the long run it was an understanding where they were coming from because it seems that they were kinda craving the sex. and julia and winsten knowing it was wrong and they still went on with it knowing it was wrong this is an example of my theme human-sexuality.

Theme

A theme is an idea woven thoughout a text, allowing the reader to think about the idea from many angles. Themes are typically summarized in one word or a short phase. One of the themes in 1984 is mind-control. The way mind control is presented in 1984 is very strongly. There is a lot of examples of mind-control in this allegory. One example is the thought police because if they believe you are thinking ther is punishment. Another example of mind-control is the telescreen. The reason way the telescreen is a example is becasue why would you want a telescreen in your room that always have to be on and someone is watching every little thing you are doing. Hoestly that would creep me out becasue you do not know when they are watching you or what they are saying about you when they are watching you. Another example is the newspaper because big brother is telling everyone what he wants them to know and not the exact truth he is only telling them half of the truth. Another example is the victory gin and the victory cigarettes. This is an example because they do not win anything at all. They are not victory they are no where near victory. Another example in 1984 is "War is Peace Freedom is Slavery Ignorance is Strength." This quote is shows reverse psychology so they people in the story think it is right and that is showing mind-control. This is only some of the examples of the theme mind-control there are more.

The Big Brother poster, its like hes looking right at you with his huge eyes. I mean when you look at it its like if I were living back in the day I would feel like hes looking straight at me even though its just a poster with his face on it. Its just there are some things that you can look at and get a feeling that it might be looking right back at you. Getting back to the poster even though its just a poster its like hes still watching over everyone in the town. Its as if the poster saying Im watching you no matter what so what ever you try Ill find out, so desoite the fact that its still a poster people still behave because of the fear they have towards him. When I think of Big Brother I think of someone who is worship by people but not in a good way because he is forving them and allowing them only to do what he wants. He basically just wants to have power over everyone and what they do. Big Brother sounds all nice, you would think its like someone watching over you and making sure you make good choices but its all a scam. The people there go through so much, Big Brother basicallly controls all there lives and no one can do anything about it. He has eyes everywhere, the poster makes it make people wanna be more cautios because of the fact how it is it makes them scared and have them think twice before doing something that shouldnt be done. Someone has to act before its too late.
