college essay

After senior year I am suppose to go to college and be successful in whatever field i am educated in. This is how a lot of kids felt growing up because their parents constantly told them. I did not feel this way until i was half way though my junior year. Being in voled with sports was the only thing i liked doing in school. Getting good grades was something i did because i liked being one of the smart kids in class. This is how i was until i joined this group called Men Empowering Nations(M.E.N). This young men's mentoring groups has opened my eyes to the reality that college is becoming very necessary. Furthering your education is determining weather i will work at a company for the rest of my life or if i run the company for my career. The group has also helped me figure out what type of person i want to be when i grow up.

"Practice makes perfect" is one of the few sayings my basketball coach would say. i use to think this only applied to basketball because that was the only thing on my mind growing up. Playing basketball as freshmen i could never make a shot. After practicing all summer i was making shots every game. After joining the group they inspired me to not only practice sports but school subjects. So the success for rapid progress in my grades is owed to them.

I always use to do things as teenger that i thought my parents wouldn understand. Just thinking about telling them my personal life gives me a awkward feeling inside. All the mentors at M.E.N have told me their life experiences that really relate to mine. Alot of the boys are with one parent in their household. I as fortunate enough to have two parents loving parents that adopted me,however this group has taught me things that my parents probably would not have.

"Dreams will always be dreams until you make them a reality." This is a quote i came up with a couple months after I joined the group. All the mentors have gave me motivation to do something with me life. It was like somebody splashed water in my face and woke me up. Deciding to join the military is just one of my biggest goals for after i graduate. Going to college and getting my degree in sports managament is one of my other ones. I believe i will be good for your school because i have motivation to do things with the actions to follow.
