what does it mean to be an adult?

what does it mean to be an adult? i personally think it means that you have to grow up, because no one will willingly take care of you forever. the world is not meant to run that way. your parents won't always be around, eventhough they might still look at you as their baby. you have to grow up sooner or later. being an adult is basically taking responsibility, doing things on your on, and being independent.as for me, i look at myself as an adult because my parents treat as if i was one. i have a job. i pay sum of the bills and i am saving up to get my own place,which will be soon since my 18th birthday is a month and a half away.
