To An Adult Means...???

Because im older now my parents depend on me to do alot on my own. They constantly say how im more mature and that i need to act more like an adult. What exactly does being an adult mean?? Being independent and not really needing my parents to do certain things for me could start it off. Being responsible is also a big part of it because in reality you see things in a different perspective and more seriously. You need to be able to understand how things work in order to survive. So your parents push you to be ready in lots of ways which i think is very important.
