Cuevas College Essay 9/7/11


In most College Essay you are asked to write about a person that has had a significant influence in your life. For me I have had many people step in to my world and completely change my way of life, but no one has ever had a bigger impact then my mother. My mother is one of the smartest, strongest, and most independent women I have ever meet. That’s saying a lot because I have met many strong independent women in my life. For example I have the change to meet the great Ms. Conney Jackson, A strong independent woman who has made a name for her by singing gospel music. With all that said, she still can not compete with my mother.
My mother is not just the lady that gave birth to me she is the person that raised me, thought me right form wrong, she was there for me when I needed her the most. I know this may sound like every other mother in the word, but she is far from any other mother. She was able to do all that not just for me but for all 9 of her kids and that dose not include all the kids around the neighborhood that my mom went out of her way to look after.
And even with 9 kids she still found a way to make time for each and every one of us. my mom would do what ever it took to makes sure she was there for us. She put us before anything even her job. I remember when I was little money was all ways tight because one day I had gotten sick in school and when the school had called up my mom at work she stop what she was doing to come get me and because of that she was fired and couldn’t find a job in months but she didn’t care all she cared about was me feeling better. That is way my mother is the person that has had the most significant influence in my life.
