Something of personal, local, national, or international concern that’s important to me is the safety in my neighborhood. I live in a neighborhood where there is nonstop violence. I don’t like to see my city in trouble. I would like for it to get better in time. Camden is not all about violence. We have talented people in our city. I would like for them to be recognized for talent and not for where they come from.

Many people think that if you live in Camden, then you’re not talented. I don’t want to be recognized like that. I want people to see me for who I am, which is a young respectful lady trying to make my family proud of me and to be the first in my family to graduate from college. I also am a hardworking person trying to make a better place for where I come from.

All of this violence in my city needs to go. I want to be able to walk down the street and be able to come back home. I’ve heard and read about so many death’s it’s a shame.People shouldn’t have to go through so many funerals. I feel as though no parent should have to bury their child.

Through all my experiences in life, it taught me to be a leader not a follower. So this is why I would like to go to college, so I can make a good name for my city.
