1984

In the book 1984 Winston does not die. This is so because in the ending of book Winston is crying while looking at Big Brother. In the process of crying Winston is talking about all the things he did wrong and how he wished he did not do it. Winston came to this conclusion because when he and Julia got caught in the room from the telescreen and Mr. Charrington they were both arrested. Once, arrested Winston was placed in a cell with other criminals. While in the cell parson shows up, he was arrested for thought crime. Parson's own daughter turned him to the thought police. Parson was then sent to Room 101. Parson was terrified and scared to go to Room 101. In Room 101 the thought police, and the Party intellectual used your greatest fears against you. Winston was tortured ad questioned over and over again until eventually he broke down confessing to everything the party intellectual accused him of doing. Just when he thought it was over O'Brien showed up. Come to find out O'Brien was setting him up the whole time. O'brien tortured Winston to re- educate him so he could love Big Brother. O'Brien told Winston to believe tha 2 plus 2 equals five. Winston had to belive that the guys were guilty for rebelig secretly against big brother and the party. The Party intellectual accused him of almost every crime and he pleaded guilty. Winston finaly realized that Big Brother was looking out for him the whole time.
