I believe that polankis’s version of Macbeth was changed at the end to keep people guessing. In his movie in the end fleance goes to the witches coven. It leaves you thinking about the possibilities. The thoughts of what could happen leave you in thought. I personally think that maybe he might be next to be king since he didn’t get killed. Or maybe he would try to defeat macduff and fail, and in the end get himself killed. Its endless possibilities to what polanki was thinking or what he wanted us to think by adding that scene. In shakespears book he just ended by malcom talking about what happed after macduff killed Macbeth. Fleance never even was mentioned again in the book. Im not sure why Polanski felt the need to change that last scene or what was going to his head. I wonder what he wanted us to think or what message he was trying to get through to us.
